Here's a few new additions to our Extreme Sports and Festivals collection.
*2009 World Water Bombing Championships:
The fifth annual event held at the Pond Forge International Swimming Pool in Sheffield, England attracted over 30 competitors all donning fancy dress in an attempt to create the biggest splash by launching themselves off a diving board. This is NOT your every day diving competition!
*Alternative Energy Drag Racing:
This FIA approved venue pitted the carbon-neutral racers head-to-head in an event that was open to anything that isn't powered by conventional fossil fuels. This is a radical change from traditional drag racing meeting usually hosted at this track.
*Tutti Day:
Tutti Day was once a nationwide affair in the UK but now it only survives in the town of Hungerford, Berkshire. The merriment commences in the morning when the Constable of the Town sounds a horn from the town hall to summon commoners to the Hocktide Court. Soon after, the Tutti men clutching their floral poles and the Tutti wenches with their baskets of treats appeared through the High Street, offering sweets and oranges in exchange for pennies and kisses from the townspeople.
*Fabulous Fezheads:
It's hard to say what exactly the Fabulous Fezheads are. They are the country's premier sand dance vaudevillian illusionists. Their annual fig and date fayre in Chepstow, England has been going on for over a dozen years and attracts bigger crowds each year. Events include various odd and unusual games and competitions.
